Thinking about this car. Have been told the engines are continual sources of problems. Can anyone shed any light whether this is true or not.

Welcome to the forums Jbyrd,

A well maintained example is a pleasure to own and drive but a neglected example can be a real money pit. Serious consideration needs to be given to who will maintain it. Paying for Jaguar expertise is expensive if you can't or don't wish to DiY.

Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xjs-x27-32/ to the XJS forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the US Lower Atlantic Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/u...r-atlantic-66/ to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Great car for a hobbyist who wants to try something different and learn some new things. You'll never find any specialty-type car with better internet support. Parts prices generally reasonable. Can be very reliable if you patiently address all the repairs and services that previous owners didn't do. A real dream to drive once you get everything up-to-par.

Cheers
DD

Welcome to the Forums.

As said, ONLY a problem is neglect.
That "catch up" list will be looooong, but the end result, PRICELESS.

Good luck.
