We picked up a 2000 XK8 for my wife - We are in the Columbia Gorge Area of SW Washington. A black convertible with 70000 miles. New to Jaguars so I've been ODing on youtube videos. So far it needs the front shock mounting replaced. It does not appear to have the secondary cam chain tensioner replaced so that is on the list. No noise on startup but I want to get them replaced ASAP. No doubt I will have a boat load of questions.

Not sure where to post running updates and commentary on this car and the status of projects. This thread seams like a good fit at first glance.

I've been putting the status of projects in my signature and more details here.

The current effort is rebuilding the front shock mounts using replacement urethane sourced from phobman. So far things are going well in that the left side is out and the mount has been rebuilt. I am stalled out because I discovered that the lower shock bushing is missing its rubber boots. I did go back and forth but decided to bite the bullet and just replace the shocks while they were out. Hopefully they will arrive in a few days so I can get this done and then go on to the other projects.
