Just joined Forum , am going to replace water pump on 2001 XJR.
Any suggestions?

Follow this link XJ ( X308 ) XJ8 / XJR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the X308 section for help and advice. The HOW TO's at the top of the threads there is a good place to start. Check for recommendations on changing the Thermostat at the same time as you do the water pump.

Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User ID button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

The manufacturer's label on the Driver's (LH) door pillar:



My UK spec vehicle doesn't show Date of Manufacture (not a requirement in the UK) but your US spec vehicle will show the date.

Did I get wrong water pump , original wide opening , plastic impeller.
Replacement pump Smaller opening metal rim enclosing impeller.
Seems some one mentioned a "metal " water pump advise
By the way no data plate on LH door jam.

JAGUAR PARTS Advises me the "lipped " water pump is only one available !!

Is this true?
