2003 XJ8 w/ 55k miles
Hello all, I'm very new to the Jaguar world and needed some advice/help. Looking at purchasing a 2003 XJ8 w/ 55k miles on it. A one owner car located in GA. Not sure yet on the maintenance history. Can anyone advise me as to what I should be on the look out for and what questions I should ask the current owner as far as maintenance. I understand some of these vehicles have plastic tensioners. Would this year car be one of those? Thanks everyone. Todd
Welcome to teh Forums.
203 is a cross over year in your market.
The early has the 4/0V8. steel body car, AKA X308.
Later is the 4.2 V8, Aluminium body car, AKA X350.
The 4ltr could have the suspect tensioners, the 4.2, NOPE.
Once you know the car from the above, go to that Tech Section and the info in there will be what you need.
Service history is MANDATORY, and a deal beaker for me.
Good luck.

Hello,
To add to Grant's comments above, I would expect a 20 year old car to have way more than a mere 55000 miles on it. One of my first questions, after the obligatory Service History would by Why so few miles?
I wish you success.
