Default 2004 XKR J-Gate issue

I tried to put shifter into park and it would only go into neutral and reverse. On the manual shift side it will only go to 3rd. It feels like the problem may be with the J shifter area but not really sure. Does any on e have any suggestions.

Hello, David,
I'm sorry your car has developed this problem. If you haven't already found your way there, someone will be along shortly to direct you to the correct section where you can learn what's wrong.

Welcome to the forums form ElinorB.

Welcome to the forums David,

Good to have you with us.

I can see you've already found your way to the XK8/XKR forum with a ballast question so there's no need for a link to it from me. That is also the place to as about the shift issue. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the US Northeast Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-northeast-35/ to find other members in your region.

Please add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham
