2006 carbon fiber or victory or???!!
VIN SAJDA42C862A44889
New here and just purchased this car for $9,000. It is a 2006 carbon fiber edition I just don't know what addition it's from. I've read that the carbon fiber edition is from 2005 but that there were a few in 2006 in the United States. It has the black I want to say tiptronic lights. It has a wider exhaust pipe. There is an R on the steering wheel, is platinum metallic.
I've run the VIN but I don't know how to do it to find what edition it is. There was no owner's manual CDs or repairs. I ran a Carfax on it and it looked a little rough but the other back checks didn't seem so bad and it was well maintained in its earlier years!!
Anyway the motor seems strong. I was going to purchase a 2000 XK8 that was in very good condition but from everything that I've read on this forum having the 4.2 with the newer transmission on the facelift is a safer bet! I like the catfish better but decided not to pass this up. Any comments remarks advice are all welcomed! That is if I can figure out how to get back to this to read it!!
If I am not following protocol again forgive me it is not intentional I just don't know what the hell I'm doing, quite simple!
As you have already posted an Intro, the place for technical questions about your X100 is the model forum. However, as you appear to be having some trouble posting, I won't complicate things by moving this thread.
VIN will not indicate "edition". Even the full Factory Build Sheet is unlikely to do this as edition is more about marketing than technical specification. The only differences from standard in both Carbon Fibre and Victory Edition were paint and trim. There were no performance enhancements in either.
The Victory Edition was originally limited to 1000 in the USA but the final total was 1024. The same specification was marketed as the Final Series in the rest of the World with no restriction on numbers. I had an XK8 4.2-S Final Series Coupe. It was available in a limited number of special colours and had a distinctive front bumper badge and door tread plates.
I think the Carbon Fibre Edition was also in limited numbers but the distinguishing features were carbon fibre replacing the veneer and Recaro sports seating.

Thank you very much for the details I do not have the victory wreath or whatever the decoration was around the Jaguar on the bonnet badge. Therefore it must be the carbon fiber edition. I know the carbon fiber edition came in the Platinum metallic paint with the alcantara seats. It has the r on the steering wheel with the extra thick all leather steering wheel which indicates the Platinum edition. Apparently if it was an upgraded order carbon fiber package there would be no r on the steering wheel.
Thank you for helping me figure this out now I know what I have LOL.
Is there any way to research what the window sticker was or where to get that information?
Thank you for the welcome wishes and always enjoy reading everybody's helpful comments on this forum!!

Previous questions on the forum about this have all come back with the answer that a duplicate is NOT available from either Jaguar or the original supplying dealer. I think there was mention of a link to obtain a facsimile and I would not be surprised if some member hasn't created a template.
The information in the left panel is taken from the Factory Build Sheet. A friendly Jaguar Dealer may print off this for your vehicle. It will be available on Jaguar TOPIx but this is charged for more than basic access:

The suppling dealer details could be obtained from Jaguar North America.
