Question AC only cold when I drive fast

I have a 2003 Jaguar S-Type...suddenly the AC stopped cooling when driving under 60 MPH. stopped and had the Freon changed they said it was half as full as it should be, but after they filled it, nothing has changed, still only cools when I am driving on the freeway...they did say they found a small leak in the compressor but that it should still last me a while, but as soon as I left the shop it was back to doing the same thing?

AC only works when you drive fast? Is no one else going to point out the obvious solution here?!?!

Hi reachchristine, welcome to the forum. I am also very new but have been stalking for a while.

I am not sure if this is the correct place to answer the question but I had the same problem with another make and it appeared to be a fan problem. mine had 2 fans and one of them was blowing to the wrong direction "after a repair".

You may have some kind of a fan problem.

Sounds to me like the freon level is either too low/high, condenser fan not operating or operating under speed, back drier/accumulator. I would begin to check these in that order. If all is well then there there is a little more in depth issue.
