Default Advice to new members...

Since I've once been here (and not sure how long my stay this time will be ), I figured that instead of a introduction, I'm going to assist others in repeating certain "experiences"...

Be advised, that you can register, but don't EVER post while you're on a business trip abroad.
Your account will be deleted without ANY prior warning. (One would think that a PM would be a logical first step to clarify any confusions, but I guess I'm expecting to much from others - as so often )
So wait with your postings, until your back home and your IP shows the correct country data

Other than that - great forum.

Welcome (back?) to the forum PercyPickwick,

First posts from anyone giving a false location result in a ban. That way we stop attacks from predominantly Middle East and Far East based spammers claiming to be in Europe or the US from posting commercial or vacuous posts across the forum.

This action is not applied to established members with a genuine post count and activity history. We have many members who travel frequently without any issues. I've posted from five different countries this year and did so from three before becoming a Moderator.

Please advise your former member name so I can check your post history and the reason for the ban.

As a former member, you probably already know your way around but if not, follow this link XK / XKR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the XK/XKR section for help, advice and information.

Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User ID button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the Europe Region section by following this link Europe - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to find other members in mainland Europe.

Enjoy the forum.

Graham

Welcome back to the forum Percy,

Good to have you with us.
Sorry about your bad experience, P.M. is not an option with a new member until they have passed the post/time thresholds.
Enjoy the site.

If you haven't already done so you should add your car details to your signature to help others to help you.

Graham,

the "original" forum name was "Pickwick".
Besides the information lost, I'll be likely posting some of the questions again - not to annoy anybody, but to see, if there would be additional information to learn.

Welcome back Pickwick.

That would have been me.

At that time you typed your location as Germany but the IP you were using was Lebanon.

Such an obvious difference generally smacks as a Spammer, hence the Ban.

And no, we don't send PMs asking if someone is a spammer.

I hope you were not too inconvenienced, as you will come to appreciate we do keep this forum pretty much spam free.

Now then, welcome to the forum.

Good morning,

and thanks for the explanations.
I won't deny, that having that experience, while spending the evenings bored in a hotel room, had me pi... o.. at that time.

I'm going to use this account from now on.
I'm planning on doing a repost of the luggage thread I started (had that one saved), but I have to see about the one Graham (I think it was him at that time) asked me to post, about the seat modifications I did in my XK.
