Default Another New Member Intro

Hi All, so happy this forum is here. I'm a proud new owner of a 2005 XJ8L Super Vanden Plas, in the racing green. Just amazed at how little I paid for such an amazing vehicle, and like others whose posts I've read I just love to drive it. I've put 1k miles on it so far (in 3 weeks), had just over 106k when I bought it and no engine malfunction lights have come on, so far as I can tell there's nothing that could have been hidden by resetting the computer. I'll post appropriately for feedback on the couple issues I see - faint smell of antifreeze but no noticeable depletion or leak (seems to be a common problem); when the headlights set to auto sometimes the right side comes on without the left, I switch to manual, they both come on, then go back to auto and they both stay on. The vehicle had all four air suspension units replaced with Arnott parts, receipts provided so hopefully won't have issues there. My research before buying this car tells me they are pretty dependable considering the performance level of the car. I've never bought a new car in my life, I've always wanted someone else to take the depreciation, this one is a little older than I'm used to buying but you know, the right Jag enthusiast babies their car, and I believe that's the case with this one. Show room condition - happy camper I am.

Thank you for the replies, I believe the answers to the questions I have about maintenance on my particular Jag have already been answered in other threads, but I want to post again just to establish I'm not a "bot", and to get full membership. Although...tonight I had an issue, I was playing around with the DVD, and one of the screens in the forward seat headrest stopped showing the video I was playing. I fiddled with the controls, and got the video screen to come on, but it just wouldn't show the dvd. Was the drivers or left side, buttons would say ... can't remember, I think "standby"? Anyone familiar with this? Might just work again in the morning, who knows.
