Another new owner
I live in Uganda, but visit the states twice a year, and want something fun to drive while I'm here.
This March, got the bug for a V12 convertible. This was after picking up a 928 in Vancouver BC last year, servicing it, and driving it 7,000 miles from Vancouver to Mexico and then all over the states to park it in Baltimore.
So this year, I picked up a beautiful 1992 XJS V12 convertible with 48K miles in Raleigh Durhan, NC. Drove up the Blue Ridge Parkway to Baltimore. Wheel bearings were a bit loose, which gave a few hairy moments with no brakes.
Car is undergoing front suspension work with ball joints, tie rod ends, bearing, calipers wishbone bushes and shocks this week. The only other problem is the reverse light switch. It has a Marelli distributor, and I've done the fix for that.
After the current work is done, I plan on doing a road trip it to Vancouver, BC and then parking it on the Olympic Peninsula at a friends farm till I return in the fall. At which point, I may drive it back across the states.
So far, I'm in love with it. Handling is not quite like the Porsche (or my Land Cruiser in Uganda), but it is very civilized.
Cheers

Welcome to the forum scottpeterd,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
I can see you've already found your way to the XJS tech forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.
Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
Enjoy the forums.
