Default Back again...

I've re-joined the forum after a long absence. I've been battling cancer for the past 5 years and it's returned so I'm planning a "last fling", currently hunting for a low-mileage X-Type. Something about that car that keeps me coming back. The wife's XJ8 is "her's" so I gotta' get my own!

Welcome back Pete,

That's terrible news but you've clearly got a very positive attitude. Go get that X-Type.

You probably know your way around here already but if not, follow this link X-Type - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the X-Type section for help, advice and information.

You may also like to visit the US Lower Atlantic Region section by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/lower-atlantic-nc-sc-fl-ga-66/ to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forum.

Good luck in the search for a low miles X-Type and best wishes.

Graham

Hi Pete:
Yes, welcome back indeed. It may sound silly, but I can imagine that even driving something you enjoy and that brings a smile to your face will help you keep the attitude up for battling the much more serious stuff. All blessings to you!

Scott

Default Thank you all!

I'd like to express my appreciation for all the kind comments and encouragement. This Forum is very different from others, a reflection of the calibre of the Jaguar community in my book. I'm determined to get thru this bout but it's getting tiresome. I've got my eye on 3 X's now-we'll see how it goes! Thanks again!

Default Got it!

I looked for my X-Type "therapy car" and found it about 2 miles away. Incredibly clean, this former "retiree grocery getter" is a one-owner 2005 will serve as my "cancer fix"! Picking it up early next week-can't wait!

welcome back to the fourm - wishing you well with the battle - sounds like you found the right one for the much needed daily dose of jag therapy.

Default Got it!

Got my X up laTE last week. A former eBay-listed car that didn't make reserve- a VDP model in Pacific blue with the white piped interior. I negotiated a price I liked and got it. Insured it and drove it a bit to determine what he needs. Given its age (2005) and some Florida "exposure", I put together a little list for my mechanics to go over. I had my favorite detailer do his stuff to it and it is simply beautifu. .The wife says "we can trade". Uhhh, no way, dearest. Sold one of my last BMW's off last night so I'm ready to start putting together some minor mods to it. Pics will come when I figure out how to get them on-I'm not a techy. This car will make chemo easier!

Great that you've found your 'therapy'.
We're stuck on a livestock farm so can only get away for an occasional night.
We've taken to finding a hotel/restaurant within a maximum of 100 miles for an overnight stay.
It has worked amazingly well - limiting the distance has found all sorts of interesting places.
Might work for you if the chemo's knocking you about a bit.
Good luck.
