Default Battery light/symbol on dash

Battery isn't charging apparently. While driving radio and dash will turn off gradually until car shuts off due to dead battery. Brand new battery had just been installed due to this issue and it happened again about 4 days later. Do I need a new alternator or is it the BMS. I don't mind buying and installing a new alternator just don't want to start throwing money at it if that is not actually the issue. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forums Chris,

I see you have posted the same question in both X250 and X260 forums. I think it's therefore safe to assume you have an XF but there's nothing in your forum profile to indicate whether it's the original (2007-2015) or the current (2015 onwards) model.

If you add the YEAR, I'll delete the irrelevant post from either X250 or X260 and then we can probably get you some help and advice.

Graham

Thanks Chris.

I've deleted the X260 copy and put a reply in the X250 one to prompt discussion by members the same model.
