I'm in St. John's , Newfoundland and have just bought a 2004 XK8 convertible 4.2 L. The car is in a friend's auto shop in Ottawa and I will be picking it up in he next week or so. I'm retired and over 60 and the last Jag I drove was a 71 E-Type. Always dreamed of owning one and I finally have one

Hello, Barry,
Congratulations on your new Jaguar!
I hope you find it a suitable stand-in for your E-type, for which we have members who would give body parts to own.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Thanks for the welcome . I am often more of a "lurker" than a poster on forums, but this place seems to have a ton of knowledge and tips. Just to be clear....I once drove a 71 E-Type v-12......just once ....never owned one At the time I was seriously into my Austin Cooper-S ....a VERY different beast
I will post some pics as soon as I get the car home. My first project will be a replacement for the radio/cassette head unit...and then making the three centre gauges work as "the real thing"
