Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum, joined to help out a friend with his 2002 V8 Jaguar Sovereign, well that's what it says on the back. I guess that makes it an X308, XJV8. It had the seemingly common thermostat / thermostat housing problem, which was soon sorted with an ally replacement from British Parts UK. Excellent service, ordered Monday by phone arrived in Rome on Wednesday, sent by DHL.
The other two problems it has are, a completely ineffective hand brake and a squeaky /creaky noise from the front RHS suspension. I popped in a couple of ARB bushes this evening, hoping it would solve the problem, but no luck. Looks like we'll have to get stuck into the suspension bushes sooner or later.
Lots of great info on here, so thanks guys, you've helped out already with a couple of jobs, hope I can return the favour some time.
BTW, was going to do the ARB bushes on Sunday, but had to watch the final day of the Tour de France instead. How completely awesome was that. What a guy, what a team. Truly amazing, Go Wiggo.

You look to have found you way around here already and got stuck into a few of the common issues so you'll know where to look for further help and advice.
Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User ID button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
I've also been sidetracked by the Tour de France. Bodes well for the Olympics where Wiggins, Cavendish, Frome and Miller are going to be hard to beat for golds.

In 81 I had a great haircut in Rome, back street barber with a cut-throat, much better than queuing to get into the Vatican.
Also had a lazy Sunday afternoon, the Tour + F1 German GP.
