Arrow cd changer removal 2001 xkr conv

Am having trouble removing the cd changer from the trunk of my 2001 xkr convertible. It looks like there are four Phillips screws holding it in, but there is no way to get a screwdriver on them - the bracket holding everything is only 3/4 inch or so away. Any help, please?

Welcome to the forum!

There are two gold colored hex screws on the top of the black chassis, and another two on the upper sides of the black chassis.

Remove all four of these. Then the inner rack can be slid out from the outer chassis. At this point you can remove any screws retaining the CD changer.

Please join us in the XK8 / XKR forum for future technical questions. This section is for intros only.

Default Your suggestion was perfect, WhiteXKR!

Got it out perfectly! Cleaned and lubed it, but still "No Disc." The disc transporting works fine - have a feeling the opticals are gone.

Thanks again!
Ben
