Default Checking in with my new S Type from Detroit

Howdy all,
I have been browsing this forum for a while now & I finally have a reason to post. I recently scooped up a 2000 S Type 4.0 I know, I know...stay away from the pre-03 Jags blah blah blah. No, the heat doesn't work properly and Ill get it nailed down, eventually. Hell, I may even tackle the chain tensioners...or not lol. Its a super clean, 87,000 mile ride & drives like a dream...for now. I have a tough time sleeping at night because of what I paid for this car haha. Basically, if I get a year out of this beast, it will have paid for itself.

I belong to a couple of other forums for hobbies I'm into and I have to say you guys are great! Very knowledgeable, helpful and don't have that 'holier than thou' attitude I find elsewhere on the web. Kudos to Jaguarforums.com, keep up the good work!

I lived in Royal Oak from 2005-2009. You have got to get that heat working, my friend! I think the Stype is a perfect car for the D. People there appreciate classy automobiles, and the freeways are wide and fast. I'm sure you'll get lots of compliments. Welcome to the forum Gfish! Just shout out if you're having any trouble navigating. Post a few pictures of your baby so we can all see!

Thanks Jay. I will probably tackle it soon. I noticed the DCCV was already unplugged, so that leads me to believe the previous owner knew what he was up against before he gave it away to me. I also own a 98 Cadillac STS and ofcourse, that thing is a handful as well. I'm no stranger to turning a wrench, especially if that means I can save hundreds if not thousands of greenbacks.

Do I need to post pics as a photobucket link or can I start a gallery somewhere?

Welcome to the forum gfisch777,

I've been viewing your garage pics. Looks good.

Follow this link S-Type / S type R Supercharged V8 - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the S-Type section for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top there is a good place to start for info on regular issues. Might even get some heat on!

You may also like to visit the US Mid West Region section by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/mid-west-us-il-ia-mi-mn-mo-oh-wi-39/ to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forum.

Welcome gfish777, and greetings from the Midwest Region. I've got two pre-2003 cars, and I can tell you they're marvelous. Sometimes needy, but marvelous. You made the right choice. Lots of folks around here, as you have already seen, from MI and the Detroit area; so you're in good company.
cheers!
Scott
