I have a Jaguar X-Type 2lt diesel 2005 model, for a while now the coil light has been coming on after a few miles and I am losing power when this light is on. Recently this is happening more often. I have had a diagnostic test and have been told that the problem is most likely the ACTUATOR. My question is if I send mine away to be re-conditioned will it be easy enough to re-fit myself, are there any special tools required and anything I should be aware of?

Welcome to the forum Doug T,

Good to have you with us.
You will find the X Type owners here X-Type - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum but we don't have a lot of diesel owners, however post your problem there and see what response you get.
Take a look at your regional section also UK - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum
Enjoy the forum.

If you haven't already done so you should add your car details to your signature to help others to help you.

Welcome to the forum Chris,

Follow this link X-Type - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the X-Type section for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top there is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You may also like to visit the UK Region by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/uk-68/ to find other members in in this country.

Enjoy the forum.

Graham
