Hi fellow Jaguar Owners.
My name is Steve and I own a 2007 S-Type 2.7 Diesel V6 Auto Twin Turbo. It has unfortunately been diagnosed with can Oil Seal leak from the Gearbox. The local Dealership has quoted £890.00 including labour to fix it. A new sleeve seal is required plus an Electrical Plug. They say they have to dis-connect the the Gearbox hence the time on labour. Does that sound a reasonable price or am I being taken for a mug?

Welcome to the forum Steve,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
A Jaguar Dealer will quote you the Jaguar 'allowed hours' for the work multiplied by their hourly rate plus parts at retail. As such, not an unexpected total but you could have it done for less using an Independent Jaguar specialist or considerably less by DIY.
Follow this link S-Type / S type R Supercharged V8 ( X200 ) - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the S-Type forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.
Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
You can also visit the UK & Eire Region forum by following this link UK & Eire - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to find other members in your region.
Enjoy the forums.
