Default Crappy Jaguar coolant reservoirs

I bought a used 2005 x-type wagon and its many defects. I am considering replacing the coolant reservoir with a 2003 lincoln ls coolant reservoir. I figure it cost less and likely is better quality but would it work? I mean its the same engine so why wouldn't it?

Welcome.

I reckon an ask in the X Type Tech section will get you answers.

Welcome to the forum Vandyone,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

I can see you've already found your way to the X-Type forum so there's no need for a link to it from me.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the US Western Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/western-us-ak-ca-nv-ut-hi-wa-id-38/
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Thank you to everyone for the welcome. This is my first jaguar. I love or so far. I do hope to own one with seafrost paint someday.
