Default Fifth jaguar

Hello all. As above, I've just bought my 5th jaguar. This one is an x300 1996 4.0. My previous models were a Daimler double 6, a 4.0l xj40, a 2.0l D type and an xk8. The last one put me off the v8 models and kept me poor. I went for the x300 because it had the excellent straight 6 engine and reliable gearbox. Unfortunately it's the sovereign model with all the unnecessary electrics, and all the usual associated problems.
Nice to be able to access the wealth of knowledge on this forum, and nice to see that it's free of unpleasant comments.

Welcome to the Forums.

The X300 is the very last of the "real" Jaguars in my opinion.

Good luck.

Welcome to the forums Redlock,

Good to have you with us. You should be safer with the X300. None of the temperament of the V8 and nowhere near the thirst of the DD6.

I can see you've already found your way to the X300 forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the UK & Eire Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/uk-eire-68/ to find other members in your region.

Please read the guidance for new members ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...ned-up-241802/ ) which answers many of the most frequent questions about getting started.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham
