first introductions
1989 xjs, convertible. Delilah is her name. got this car for a song and a dance practically. traded an old 1983 mercedes 300d for it. a few problems, but mostly nuisances.
already rebuilt the entire power steering system, new pump, all three hoses, cooler, rack and pinion, as well as lower control arms. replaced abs accumulator, pump, control module and fluid. air filters and oil/filter of course. replaced windshield wiper column switch. and a few o-rings and grommets here and there.
i want to get to the fuel hoses on the fuel rail along with the cruise control baffle and wire when i do my plugs and wires. (just haven't yet)
currently getting 8.5 mpg approximately. (can't figure out how to get better, but up from 5ish when i first got it)
it seems that the car just wanted to be driven. things are starting to work better and better as drive and clean it.
i also drive a 1991 vw cabriolet and a 1979 vespa p200e. can't wait for the opportunity to get my hands on an old bmw 2002tii or an austin mini. two of the cars i've wanted since living in england.
i don't post often, but frequent the forums looking for advice. sincerely appreciate all that is given especially when given without sass. (not everyone, including myself, knows all of the intricacies of mechanics) and at times with vw forums i've experienced people who should be slapped.
thanks again and i look forward to your help and helping you

Welcome to the forum.
Good to see you.
Great intro' had a chuckle a 2002tii will cost you a kidney, and back in student days we used to play with a Cooper S.
Massive fun, rather like a track go cart on speed.
