Welcome fixeruper, surely the 05 can't need that much work? Whats the project consist of, anything major? Its one of my favorite 'generations' XJ, and i hope to own my own VDP one day so I can play with the picnic trays in the back seat.

enjoy your bonding with your son!

Just bought first jag. 05 vdp silver 2weeks ago
Its an accident repair, front end
I thought all it needed was a couple airbags and a module, hood, bumper cover but after renting a uhaul, traveling 4 hr i found out it needed alot more but boughtit anyway.
Here is a partial list of what i needed
2 airbags and,module
Steering wheel vol. And cruse tabs
3 rear seatbelts
1rear carpet threshold
1 Gas pedal assembly ( the previous owner had a stroke in right leg so had gas pedal custom made to the left side of the brake )
4 rear parking sensors
1 rad 1 ac condensor
Plasic intake to throtle body
Hood, headlamps bumpercover
Grill, bumper bar and 2 frame rail extensons

Last wed. I traveled(3000km) all ontario to salvage yards and found everything exept
Bumper bar ,2frame extensions,
And as for the bumper cover and grill i found one in detroit 8 hr away that will be next weekend!

Default 05 vdp rear lock

Hi i think i need an expert, passenger rear door does not lock so i took the actuator out and tryied it on rear driver side and it seems to be working, then i tryed the rear driver on the pass. Side and nothing! I think that tells me its a prob with the wiring. I looked at the plug ins they look good,
Where would i check next? Is there a dedicated harness?

Thanks

Hmm, might not be as simple as that, it rarely is with electronic controls. What do you mean by 'actuator' ?

The latch mechanism in each door contains microswitches that tell the lock controller the position of the individual latch.

Default Lock actuator

I removed the door latch from inside door. It has 2 plug ins and a cable that goes to the handle. Is that unit called a lock actuator?

Welcome to the forum.

Good to see you.

You need to post in the X350 section for tech questions.

Where, and how hard did it get hit? Airbags deployed, IIRC in an event such as this then all the door will automatically unlock.

Could be that a control module has conked.
