First Jag, and first car
Hey everybody,
Brought a 1994 Jag xj6 vanden plas on Saturday and just stumbled on this forum. Any advice or things to look out for would be great.
I hate to jump right into a bunch of questions, but if anyone knows what might cause a rough idle or the type of code reader (if any) you might use on a 1994 I would be much appreciated. (Oh, and to any Portland, OR jag people any good repair shops?)

Welcome to the forums 
Congrats on your Jag and hope you like your new ride
You may also press VCM button to see if you see any fault code . Rough idle might be related to throttle body or the stuff itself too .
