First Jaguar - always thought it would be a sports car
Time changes everything. Who would have guessed I'd get a jaguar sedan? The moon, stars, planets, zodiac, whatever, must have all lined up and in a moment I won an eBay auction for a 2005 S-type V8 with 89K miles. Maybe you saw it, the one with the guage problem. Speaking of that, I'll be posting in another section for thoughts on that matter.
I love cars, have road raced just a little, am a graduate of Skip Barber's 3 day racing school, and do almost all of my own matainence and repair. It will take me a little to get up to speed on the S-type, but I have a good start because I also own a 01 Lincoln LS and I understand some of the parts are interchangeable.
Look forward to communicating with you.

Hey Joe,
A Jag saloon is pretty sporty so you got both in one. Were you shopping specifically for an S-Type--if not how did you decide (was it the Lincoln connection?). Wondering whether you came across any manual-transmission S-Types in your search. There are some '03 V6 ones up here in Ontario.

Thanks for the reply,
Yes, for a sedan, this Type-S is quite sporty. Still.....
I knew I needed a sedan, that I wanted to drive something that I could be proud of, and one that was not so common. The S-type fits all of that. The Lincoln connection was just a bonus (well I see that way because of the familiarity, others might not want to acknowledge that relative.) My search was limited to vehicles that I could drive to pickup. No shipping or flying. No, I did not find any manual transmissions in my search.
BTW, according to carfax, my S-type spent its first year in Buffalo NY. Almost Canadian.
