First post
This is my first post to the forum and I am looking forward to the activity and information sharing. I have an 87 XJS Coupe with a Sky-Top sunroof. Several projects have been completed but there are more to go and I expect that it will never be "finished". I am retired and enjoy driving the car most every day.

She looks great, Bob. Beautiful car. It must need mechanical work, because cosmetically..... WOW. Steve
Thanks Steve, but as you know pictures are deceiving. The top was left original gold and it is checked. The rest of the car was repainted with a lighter color gold...that would have been great but..evidently something took out the windshield and the car was covered with plastic. That wouldn't have been a bad thing to have a new windshield, but...they used duct tape to hold the plastic on. The glue from the tape went through the clear coat and left marks that cannot be removed everywhere the tape was placed. The only way the marks come off is to remove the clear coat. So, it needs repainting. Interior wise, it only needs the front seats recovered due to splitting seams. The rear top edge is split but I could live with that.
Mechanically, a long story, as most. When I first bought it, I actually drove it home with so little power it would barely pull itself up a small grade. I have done many things under the hood including the discovery that the plug wires were installed in reverse order. Amazing that it still would start and run, but it did. More on the repairs later.
Your car..what about it brought you to the conclusion that it started out as a coupe? Is the top electric? Are there areas that appear converted? It looks great. How rigid are the front windows without the post and track? I would like to see pictures with the top up.
On a related subject of pictures..what is the difference in the "garage" and the "album"? Appreciate info on that.
