Was not looking for a Jaguar of any type when I came across this vehicle at a New Dealership (not a Jag dealership). I was moved at its outside appearance and at the interior. You just don't see many Jaguars around at all where I am living. Well, I bought it. It took six weeks to actually get it in my possession but it was well worth the wait. The air conditioning needed serviced, a wheel needed replaced due to a weld repair leak and the luxury body and paint department touched up a few minor scratches. All finished now and I just picked it up a couple of days ago and I could not be happier. What a finely tuned machine this is. It is also a very beautiful vehicle and I get compliments left and right about it even from total strangers. You can bet that I will take very good care of this machine.
I hope to be a Jaguar owner for many years now and I do expect to be a frequent reader of this forum.
God Bless.
Lee

Thank you for the welcome everyone. Super pleased with this purchase. First time I ever had a leather interior in any of my vehicles and boy does this have the leather.
Getting ready to take a lengthy road trip. I have some time off right now so my plan is to do a 1300 mile one way trip this week. Not sure if I will leave tomorrow or Tuesday and not even sure when I will be returning home, lots of sight seeing. First thing tomorrow morning will be an oil/filter change and since I know this engine does use oil I will grab a few extra quarts. After I checked over the entire vehicle today I washed and waxed and I also conditioned all the leather. She looks brand new. Engine was detailed also.
In case you are wondering, yes, I am a bit nervous about this trip. Hopefully it will perform flawlessly.
Ill add my welcome, and agree with Lnr that they find you, grab you and you cant let go.... I am living proof. They follow me even if I try to resist.
Thank you Jerry. I hear you loud and clear. "Resistance is futile!" I'll be passing through Indiana by way of I-70 in a few days. I am currently making an appt. to have a covid test done just in case I have to present a negative test to any authorities while enroute and for the return. Not sure about any travel protocol's but probably a good idea.
I know its been over a year since I posted this "intro thread" but I am still a new Jaguar owner in the scheme of a lifetime.

I do 2000 miles with one overnight stop from north of England to south of Spain every year apart from this one due to the Covid restrictions. The one essential I always carry is a code reader.

Enjoy the trip.

Thanks Graham. Good advice about the code reader, I will be bringing one. - That is a lot of driving in that short of time. It would for sure take me a few days to do that. I just noticed we have 100% chance of rain the next three days and it is raining as I type this. I am probably going to wait until Thursday to leave.
At 9:30 this morning I am getting the covid test. I never knew it but all one does to get tested is fill out an online questionnaire which determines ones eligibility and then once approved you are making an appointment at a local pharmacy (drive thru, I guess you do the nasal swab yourself). It took about 5 minutes total to complete. The best part is it is free. Results in 24 hours.
Have a good day sir.
SARS CoV-2 results I received this morning. Negative. It has been raining for four days straight and it is supposed to quit tonight. Tomorrow I leave for the east coast and on the return I will be heading to a point a mile off Lake Erie where I grew up as a kid. Pretty excited!
Have a great day Jag owners
Update - 1375 miles later I arrived in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. 700 hundred miles traveled the first day and the remainder on the second day. Not one single issue has occurred. Engine oil level is still showing full and could not be happier. Not sure what happened with the 600 mile trip I took to Texas a few weeks ago when the oil level showed 3/4 full after that trip. Maybe I did not put enough oil in it when I changed it the time before that Texas trip. Anyway, a couple more days here and then I am headed for Lak Erie. What a pleasure this vehicle is to travel in. All the power I could ever need for any situation. Average MPG has been 26.5 mpg. Average speed is approx. 70 mph and that includes the few times I exited the turnpikes and cruised around the small towns. There were also times when keeping up with the traffic was 90-95 mph on these turnpikes and I could do it with ease. Traveled through several tunnels in the mountains of Pennsylvania which was pretty awesome After exiting one tunnel you immediately enter another one. They sure spent a bunch of money on these roads.
At a later date I will post some pictures.
Love this Jaguar!
