Default Fitting Aftermarket Reversing Sensors 2003 S-Type

re the above, I've wired them up to the rev' light wire and earthed (black wire) to the chassis. They sort of work but are live all the time even when the car is not in reverse. I'm thinking that the earth wire should go to an earth or negative in the loom? Any help on this matter would be appreciated, thanks

Welcome.

No idea on that, but the S Type guru's in the S Type section should have suggestions.

Good luck.

Welcome to the forum colin1952,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

Could be more complicated than that. The tail lamps are controlled through the RECM (Rear Electronic Control Module) and the PACM (Parking Aid Control Module) on an OE installation.

Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...ed-v8-x200-15/ to the S-Type forum for help, advice and information.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the UK & Eire Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/uk-eire-68/
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Hi Colin, Old thread but wondering if you sorted the installation out? We are having the same problem with our aftermarket rear parking sensors. Cheers Julia

Welcome to the forums Julia,

Colin was last on the forum in 2018 only two days after posting the question so unlikely to get a reply. I suggest a new post in S-Type forum and an Intro from you would also be a nice courtesy.
