Forgot to do this!!
Sorry I didn't do this earlier. Introduction: My name is John Brewton. I turn 75 in a couple of weeks. The 2017 F-pace R-sport is my first Jaguar. I finally became convinced that Jaguar had solved their reliability problems of the past when a good friend drove his for over ten years with no problems. Consumer groups like Consumer Reports keep bad-mouthing Jaguar because they never bother to update their ratings and comments. I purchased my car new in Dec. 2017. I have never had any problems. The car performs like the thoroughbred it is. I did upgrade the front brake pads to those from VAP. I used to do all my own work but that was a long time ago - now I use trusted repair shops.
A short listing of interesting vehicles I have owned:
1964 Volvo P1800.
1967 Dino coupe
1960 Ferrari 250 GT
1966 Maserati Mistral 3.7
1967 Maserati Mistral 4.0
1969 Porsche 911E
1974 Trans-Am 455
1982 Maserati Quattroporte II
1968 Alfa 1300 Jr. Completely modified w/2 liter engine and competition suspension, etc, etc.
1969 Alfa Spider
1979 Alfa Spider
1991 Alfa 164
1994 Porsche 968
1989 Audi 80 Quattro. Completely modified for street w/rally motor, etc, etc
1994 Audi S5
2013 Volvo S60 Polestar
All of the above were pretty good cars except for the Porsche's and the Audi S5.
As you can guess from the above I like and enjoy fast cars. I raced enduro karts for twelve years. I wrote and published The Lamborghini-Maserati Newsletter from 1984-1990. I would love to put a sport exhaust on the F-pace but my wife would have a fit!
