Default Glad to find this forum...multiple Jag owner here

I've been on Jag-Lovers for a long time but just recently found this forum (how in the world was it hidden for so long?). I'm the proud owner of a pair of XJs (1999 XJ8, 1988 XJ40 VDP) and we're about to add a third (2003 S-Type 5-speed) in the next week or so, as soon as I can go out of state to get it.

I'm also the former owner of a 1988 XJS V12 and a 1976 XJ12L. I owe it to my late father, who started with a 1963 XKE and got me addicted to these fine cars. I also gave my wife the bug when I bought the 99 XJ; she didn't really care for Jaguars before but now couldn't see herself driving anything else. In a couple of years, we'll probably trade the XJ for an XF.

We're not rich or pretentious people, which is hard to get across when you've got three cats in the yard. To wit: The 99 and the S-Type are both used car lot finds, while the XJ40 was rescued from a barn for less than $700 and put back into service.

I look forward to getting to know you guys, and enlisting your help when something goes awry.

Jess

Welcome to the forums Jess, you will find this to be one of the friendliest around. We all help each other, the size of your wallet does not come into it at all.

I'd love to see the dealers face when you propose trading the XJ40 for an XF. LOL

Heh heh...I wouldn't part with the XJ40 anyway. The car we'd be trading would be the X300 (or more appropriately, selling to someone straight out before ever heading to the lot).

Given that the XJ40 has a couple of fenders you can see through (thanks, northern U.S. road salt), I don't imagine it would fetch much.
