Default Glad to find a place...

...where I can say I LOVE MY JAG! Without getting looked at like I need a stay at the Rubber Room Express.

Not sure exactly what all ya'll want to know, but I'm the proud owner of a week-old-new-to-me '05 Jag S-type 4.2 V8, just rolled 50,000 miles and I'm completely in love with it!

I'm glad to have found this site and the access to the experience of other Jag owners to draw upon when I get to scary stuff like maintenance--was scared to death washing it the first time (Please God-Don't let me mess this awesome car up!)

I'm the daughter of a dearly departed mechanic, not a complete dunce so we can skip the blinker fluid jokes :P

Looking forward to getting to know you!

Welcome Kitty. I'm new here also having bought ours just last Monday. I bought mine damaged so have some work to do. Sounds like you got a nice one too.

Although I just joined I have learned a LOT already. Make sure to check the FAQs in the S Type section. It gets a little frightening reading about all the potenial trouble areas. But it is GREAT to know there is so much suport and knowledge available here...and great tips on saving money on parts!

Thanks Jim and welcome! You're right- the potential for problems is a little nerve-wracking especially when getting to know a used car, but the experienced members here appear to be a great resource!

I hope your damage isn't extensive enough to keep you off the road for long-- at the price I got for mine, I'm still waiting for something bad to happen! LOL

I could fix it in a couple weeks but paying work will slow it down. Sucks to have to work for a living!

Laurie decided to give her's a male name. Memphis after Nick Cage's character in Gone in 60 Seconds. She also anounced that she can't drive it to work, it must be garaged and she doesn't want to drive it in the rain. I believe I have created a monster!!

I know what you mean about "the looks" Everyone told me I was nuts for buying one of these cause they are trouble. I couldn't pass up the price and it's her "Dream Car"

I've never been one to bother with garaging my car, but I've put out word to those storing crap in my garage that's gotta go cuz the rawr-car <name still pending-have always just called my cars Bess> can not be allowed to sit in the driveway. I'm also grateful there's no longer a tree next to the driveway because it would have to go too-- I can feel where Laurie is coming from. =D

Welcome to the forum Kitty,

Don't worry too much about all the faults you read about, most people come here when there is a problem and they need help, very few come to say how well their car is running, but it is good to be aware of common problems so that you can deal with them early.
