Greeting from Sweltering Texas
In January I purchased a '98 XJ8L at a good price, but from a less than reputable dealer, so I knew I was in for some repairs, but feeling that even a bad Jag is a good Jag, I grabbed my wrench and credit card firmly in hand and dove in head first!
With some invaluable guidance from this forum, I dove in. Replaced the fuel pump, cleaned out the throttle body, changed plugs and air filter (about 30K miles overdue), replaced the coolant reservoir, airflow sensor and intake, PLUS just had the transmission rebuilt.
Been having some trouble with the ever-popular Stability Control Fail, which ironically, seems to get a little better every time I fix something else. Go figure.
This information in the form of an introduction, is rehashed somewhat in another post seeking a part ID for the next problem that has developed, a crack that s spitting out coolant at a high rate.
Once that is taken care of, I can paint her (she's been well-baked in this Texas sun) and maybe track down that Stability Control Fail once and for all.
Anyway, the jorney continues,,,

Welcome to the forum Jim,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
I can see you've already found your way to the X308 tech forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.
You can also visit the USA Southwest Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/usa-southwest-az-tx-nm-ok-37/ to find other members in your region.
Enjoy the forums.

Hello, Jim,
What a story! It reminds me of my own experience in the first few months of Jaguar ownership. For certain it's a good way to bond with the car!
Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
