Hello everyone!
My name’s Geoff and I live in Canberra, Australia. I’ve been an inactive member for some time. I don’t know exactly how long as I’ve never posted before and my viewing has been sporadic.
I was bitten by the Angli-Jag syndrome as a 5 year old. This happened at a car show circa 1974 when my father pointed out a white E-type roadster telling me “Geoff, this is a sports car!”. I clearly remember looking down the vast expanse of bonnet (hood) with cooling vents, a sharks mouth opening, wire wheels and thinking “wow! I’m gonna have one of those when I grow up!!”. It took me many years but I achieved that goal, however it came with the collateral damage of an additional 6 Jaguars! Three are registered, very roadworthy, nice (mostly) and driven daily … all are XJ’s. The others are works in progress. They could be put in a driving state with a little effort but I don’t want to go off half-cocked; I want to get them fully restored before getting them back on the road.
Sadly, genetic illness put it all on hold for some years but I’ve overcome those health challenges and I’m now forging ahead with works underway. I’ve managed to build a pretty good workshop over the years and now my great desire is a hydraulic car hoist!
I look forward to talking to you over time and sharing the joys and horrors that come with the passion and love associated with the marque. I hope I can also help others as we share the joy!!
Wishing you all the best for this Easter 2025,
with kindest regards,
Geoff :-)

Reason: Clarity
Hello, Geoff,
We read stories like yours often. one Jag leads to more (they breed ya know, once you have 2, well...), but this is the First time I've seen this affliction referred to as Collateral Damage!
Welcome to the forums (at last) from ElinorB.

Thank you for the welcome ElinorB. The collateral damage comment should have been more clearly defined as financial’! I’m glad I don’t have a mortgage … or do I? LOL - 7 Jags certainly feels like it!
thanks again … Happy Easter!
Welcome and buddy you sure do need a lift with 7 Jaguars! Add in your health situation and I would say it's mandatory at this point if you plan to keep working on cars.
Just got mine in December. Perhaps it was my Christmas gift to myself.
Getting too old to work on the ground.
Welcome aboard Geoff, I’ve added you to the NSW & ACT Roll. If you’d like me to list your jags separately just let me know…
