Mea culpa - my Jaguars etc.
I've been involved in Jaguars since my first purchase of an E-type in 1967. It cost me the grand sum of £300 back then, an early 1961 car in old English white with red interior. I tried to emulate Marc Bolan and so the car died but luckily not me. Then the usual followed; marriage family and divorce but by then I had my current 1961 flat floor roadster which I still have over 100,000 miles later and which is currently the subject of a second restoration since purchase. Then I had a Mk VIII, an XK, and S type 3.4 and so on, but then at the turn of the century became really interested in good replicas of cars which will never ever be the province of anyone except the very wealthy, so I bought a short nose Lynx D-type. Then I bought a long nose Lynx D-type with the idea of converting the short nose into an XKSS, but that idea got sidetracked by my desire to recreate one of Jaguar's missing links - the infamous and virtually unknown 1952 Le Mans C-type. So, to fund the project the long nose was sold (I am always a lover of the first models since I find them the purest) and over a period of several years the new C-type was built. This was no fibreglass lookalike, but a full-on FIA papered C-type which subsequently, to my amazement, has been invited to both the Revival and the Festival of Speed.
then the recession bit hard, and frankly I didn't like driving the C-type much so I sold it on and was left with the D-type and the E-type. But I always seem to need a project, so the D-type was converted to an XKSS by those who built her in the first place - CKL Developments which derived from Lynx. That was in 2012, and now the E-type is being rebuilt after years of hard service including hill climbs and track days, 100,000 miles and visiting 22 countries.
My interest in replicas has led me to write many an article on the subject and was correspondent for one of the specialist magazines for a few years. Getting older now, I write occasionally but not often. Some people seem to sniff at them, but I always finished each article with the comment "live the dream". I can't afford - nor ever will be able to - a real D-type or XKSS, so I drive the next best thing, a well-built replica.
so if you wonder why I haven't put up a photo on the iste, there are two reasons; it's first and foremost a Lynx, not Jaguar, and anyway the model XKSS doesn't exist in the list of Jaguar models. Shame!

Hello and welcome, Lowdrag.
I'm a bit happy that there isn't an XKSS section because I'd prolly never visit it and thereby miss reading about your incredible automotive experiences. Please don't be shy about photos--we luv'em and as far as I'm concerned, Lynx et al are part of the family.
There's nothing like an Ecurie Ecosse blue C-Type! Or any of the models you mentioned, in any colour. Please tell us some stories!
Norri: how about a section for makes closely associated with Jaguar? Maybe we'll pick up some Eventers etc. or something from the gods at Broadspeed. Just a thought.
