Default Greetings from the Desert

Greetings, I am in the desert outside of Tucson. There is an Aspen Green XK8 Convertible 2002 vintage in the garage, along with a Benz wagon, and a Volvo VR. In the past I used the forum to research a transmission issue with the XK and found some useful if not effective information. I have thrown in the towel on the XK and am researching what to replace it with. A gently used F-Type is in the running, along with an E Cabriolet or SLK. I thought about an A5 convertible but I have had doubts about VW's integrity when it comes to warranty issues which have been proven to be well founded. So I am reading the F-Type forum to get a feel for its general desirability and issues. Maybe this time Jaguar's legendary depreciation will work in my favor. In closing let me say I have found the level of discussion here to be noticeably higher than on the Volvo forum I used to read.

Welcome to the forum Suaro,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums. Sorry to hear the XK8 didn't work out.

I've always found Jaguar depreciation to be 100% reliable () so you should be OK to find a suitable F-Type.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

I am the original owner of the XK8. For all but three years it was a winter fun car. It was trouble free and required minimal attention. Then everything fell apart, trans, ECM, ABS. The replacement will be a winter only car. I think the pricing will work out, the issue is a lack of supply in this neck of the woods. I may have to go over to CA, but their pricing tends to be higher.

A one owner 2002 XK8. That in itself is rare so there should be interest even with the unresolved faults.
