Default Greetings from Kent

Hi. Bill from Deal in Kent. First into Jaguar's back in the 60s & 70s when I was able to do much of the work myself. Now I'm afraid much later in life apart from tinkering my credit card has taken over from my spanners. Retirement bought on the urge for another Jag but every 3.4 which is what I wanted was either overpriced or neglected in some way or other but found a Daimler V8 250 with more than reasonable bodywork and as the price for these is more realistic I paid my money. The extra chrome, the cigar lighter plus the Edward Turner engine are all good talking points.. Unfortunately it blew a head gasket on it's first proper outing so the CC received it's first bashing for a full engine rebuild.
My tinkering led to my first post. I replaced the boot rubbers resulting in the boot not shutting, they were the David Manners official ones not the alternative, fitted nicely in the channel, but no way will the lid catch.

Other than my Daimler my fun transport is a fully restored 1952 Ferguson T20 tractor, gets more looks than the Daimler when cruising along the seafront.

Welcome.

The Daimler would be a Gem, but that Fergy, maaaaate, that takes first place every time.

Welcome to the forum Bill,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

I learned to drive on a T20 in 1962 - what a brute that was to start on a cold February morning!

I can see you've already found your way to the
MKI / MKII S type 240 340 & Daimler forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the UK & Eire Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/uk-eire-68/
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham
