Default Greetings from sweden!

Hello! I’m a 19 year old from Sweden and i have a Jaguar XJ6 series 1 (1969, left hand drive) as my first car!
i’m hoping to get some useful information from this forum and share my story with the car
I bought it from a guy which had stored it in his garage for 30 years, it was driven once in 1990 with a newly renovated engine, since then it’s been standing and the guy has put a lot of work into the car.
some things done are:
newly renovated brakes
Complete undercarriage restoration
newly renovated steering servo
complete rust removal
newly painted engine bay
interior has been painted and protected

some things left to do:
sagging headliner
Air flow
radio/wire speaker
right door won’t open from inside and sometimes not the outside
speedometer spins when going over 45 km/h, rpm gauge dies sometimes
Fuel gauge shows wrong
vacuum line leaking
something is whining over 3500 rpm
boot light and reverse light not working
start reliably in the cold

Welcome to the Forums.

What a find, and all that work done.

That to do list is basically silly little things, fiddly for sure, but not hard.

Good luck.

Hello, Simon,
Congratulations on a) your first car, and b) your First Jaguar!
It looks pretty good from here!
I agree (having grown up in Cold Country) a car needs to start reliably in cold weather.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
