Default Greetings - Thinking of buying an F-Type vs Porsche

New member here. I am considering the purchase of a Jaguar F-Type S. I've been a Porsche guy for over 25 years. I like driving country roads, and the occasional Interstate. I've been to several track days, but not my cup of tea.

I'm looking at a 2015 F-Type S coupe. Like its looks. A couple questions:

1. I have not seen a he car in person. There is no mention of having a backup camera. Odd for a car in the F-Type price range. Can a backup camera be retrofitted to work with the dash led display; is this cost prohibitive; does it need to have the Vision Pack; if the F-Type did not include Vision Pack, can it be retrofitted
.
2. The reviews I've read give me the impression that the 2016 LED dash display and the software behind the 2016 LED dash display are improved over the 2015. Is that correct in your experience; can the 2015 be upgraded to 2016 LED and software; if so, would the upgrade be worthwhile?

Thanks ...

Hello,
I have to agree with you, track days are overrated. A rural/mountain road, just you and your car, is much to be preferred.

I can't help you about the F-type, I've never seen one either. Although I can't imagine Any new car without backup camera these days, now that people have become addicted to them. Maybe it's like the horn; such standard equipment that it's no longer listed.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Welcome.

Jag or Porsche, fair dinkum, Stuttgart went on its knnees in 1976 with the XJ-S introduction, and have never recovered. I am biased of course.

No idea on that camera either, but who cares where ya been, its the road in front that counts.

ENJOY

I just picked up my 2016 coupe. I bit the bullet and ordered the premium and vision pack, which gets you the camera, and a lot of other stuff, but for a price. I found something online the would allow both front and rear cameras to be added, and show up on the screen, but I don't remember the name of the company.
