Default Greetings from Vulcan, Alberta, Canada

Hello!

I am now the proud owner of a 1990 Jaguar XJ6. I'm not too sure what engines or option were available, but I have the 4 litre engine, a sunroof and lots of other gadgets.

I will have lots of questions about my car... But that's for another post.

Question What have I got?

Here are some photo's of my car... Just what do I have? Looking online for parts, the 1990 XJ6 parts don't match what I have on my car.

For example, my headlights. They look like sealed beams. The web stores are showing me 9005 and 9006 bulbs, which don't seem right to me.

Welcome to the forums Calab,

You have one of the several different Jaguar models produced between 1968 and 2009 which they chose to very confusingly all badge as XJ6. To distinguish between these different models, dealers and the forum use the factory model code which for your version is XJ40. Unusually yours has European specification twin headlamps instead of the North American market single rectangular headlamps. I had an identical one in Solent Blue in England.

Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xj40-xj81-25/ to the XJ40 forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the Canada Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/canada-73/ to find other members in your region.

Please read the guidance for new members ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...ned-up-241802/ ) which answers many of the most frequent questions about getting started.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham
