Default Happy to be in a real car, hello everyone

I traded in my Lotus Evora 400 on an F-Type R and couldn't be happier. Other than the pretty bodywork, the Lotus was a giant pile of **** (repeated tranny issues, interior rusting, seats were cheap and broken, various electrical issues) and most of all, the company Lotus is a bunch of crooks that don't hold up their warranty. The Evora and Jag both stickered for about the same (~$110k) but the Jag actually feels like a $110K car should and not some overpriced trackday kit car made by amateurs.

Anyway, enough ranting. I am a life long car enthusiast and I am happy to be here. I live in the Dallas area and like fast GT cars the most. My wife dailys a 2017 Raptor which we take offroad, tow, haul the dogs in and go on long drives in. My daily has ranged from Acuras, BMW Ms, 911s, AMGs, C7 Vettes, Lotus and now my first Jag. I also race Ducatis/Aprilias/Yamahas at the club level, and do a fair bit of leisure dirt bike riding.

I have had the F-R about a week and the biggest compliment I can pay the Jag is that it's the prettiest AMG one can buy. Being a 2015, my F is so tail happy but also so refined and docile when you want it to be that it reminds me of my M156 AMG. The supercharged Five-O may be old, but is creamy and power is very linear. The comical exhaust noises on the overrun become more muted once the car has warmed up which is nice. LOVE the fact that it keeps itself in dynamic mode even when switched off.

I am going to love driving this car for the next couple of years. Look forward to learning from this group.

Well, there's your problem with the Lotus, it's Gang Green! But you really shouldn't hold it all in, ya know, you need to tell us how you REALLY feel about it. The fact your new Jaguar (congratulations on that, by the way) is RED (my second favorite right after BLACK), makes it superior in and of itself! LOL

Welcome to the forum.

You can partially solve rear traction issues by upgrading to Michelin Pilot 4S tires.

Couple heads up about F-type:
- Mind your oil level. The car doesn't warn you about oil level until it is too late. With a long oil change interval some people run oil level low and damaged engine.
- Change your oil more frequently than maintenance schedule if you drive the car hard.. F-type is DI (direct injected) supercharged engine and some blow-by when pushed is expected. More frequent oil changes make this non-issue. Otherwise you run the risk of intake sludge and low oil level.
