Hi Everyone. I just checked off the top item on my bucket list and purchased a 2000 XK8 convertible in beautiful condition. It's my first sports car after 48 years of sedans and SUVs. I'm sure you all know the joy I am feeling right now.
As for my personal info, I worked in the airline industry for 36 years as a pilot and later as a technical pilot. I retired from Northwest Airlines in 2008 and now do consulting work in the industry. I live in Minnesota in the Twin Cities area with my wife and 2 kids. I plan to use the car from Spring to Fall and then keep it warm in the garage when the snow hits.
This is my first experience with Jaguar and hope to be able to pick your collective brains for help with stuff that comes up. Thanks and looking forward to some good exchanges.

The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues. Be sure to check the 3 weaknesses on the XK8 - tensioners, cooling system and transmission fluid change.
Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

welcome to the forum and the Jag family. You will find plenty of info and support here - by far the best tool in a Jag owner's tool box. Nice looking car - as Graham mentioned the XK8/XKR section has tons of great how to's and info - so dig in and enjoy
