Default Hello

Hello,

Finally added a Jaguar to the list of cars I have owned. A 2003 S-Type V6 5-speed:

I am a total car nut. A Londoner by birth, now living in Houston, Texas. Currently own:

1968 Austin America (1300) Lemons Race Car
1972 Triumph TR6 parts car
1973 Triumph TR6 project
1991 Buick Roadmaster Hearse (Banger Rally Car)
1993 Mazda Miata (Project for banger rallies)
2003 S-Type
2006 Acura TL
2012 Honda Pilot

And will pick up an Austin 1800 Landcrab soon.

So the S-Type does not work. Body good, interior good, big end bad. So considering options:

Rebuild Bottom End (Top end re-done recently)
Replace bottom end with good one for an S-Type or Lincoln LS
Replace entire engine

Clearly I am mad.

Welcome to the forum Brittx,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

I'm intrigued by the photo of the S-Type on the trailer. The only way I can see to get it on or off is by removing the trailer mudguards because none of the doors will open the way it is.

Looking for a Landcrab - most of us are still trying to forget them! I haven't even seen one over here for about twenty years so they must be like hen's teeth in the US.

Follow this link S-Type / S type R Supercharged V8 - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the S-Type forum for help, advice and information.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the US Southwest Region forum by following this link Southwest US - AZ TX NM OK - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum

Enjoy the forums.

Thank you for all the welcome messages.

The mudguards do pop down. Having said that, I drove the car on and noticed I could not open the doors and got out through the driver's window.

Austin 1800s are as rare as hen's teeth here too, I was lucky to find one. Here are some details about my 1300:

Let me update my signature. I am sure I will be checking in often and I apologise in advance for having a terrible sense of humour.

1300's like that were a common site over here - usually advertised as 'one careful owner'!
