Hello
I've been a visitor to this site many times, joining now to get some advice.
Since 1980 or so I have owned a total of 6 Jaguars, among other marques.
I have a little issue with automobiles. Something like an addiction to the mechanical mysteries. If I had the means and the space I'd still have them all.
1974 XJ6 SWB. In many ways a favorite. Primrose yellow, black leather.
The previous owner had removed various emission controls one by one as they gave trouble. I rebuilt the top end, made everything functional.
1976 XJ12L. The Green Dragon. Almost all the rubber had gone bad, hoses, tubes, fittings. I ran out of patience and money. I had never seen a vehicle with so many mechanical fasteners.
1976 XJS Coupe. Blue. Hot. Well, it looked sharp.
1989 XJ6. Had it for 6 months until a woman in a Honda rear ended it at 45 mph, my wife was properly stationary at a crosswalk waiting for pedestrians. Totaled. Noble sacrifice.
1994 XJS Convertible. Red with tan. Great car. No issues. Sold it to a lawyer. He bought it sight unseen.
2000 XK8 Convertible (current car). Just completing chain tensioners replacement, head gaskets. Had the heads inspected, valve clearances.
I live in the SF Bay Area. My wife is extremely patient.
