Talking Hello!

Hi, how's everyone doing, name's John, and I've been looking into buying a 2003-06 Jag XKR Convertible (I am in LOVE with the looks of this car!), and have been doing a bit of reading, and searching on it. I hope to have one within this or next year depending on how the budget pans out.

Anyways just a quick question, how does the stock Alpine changer handle cd-r's, as I'm a music fanatic and can handle not having it read mp3's, but I cannot handle it not being able to read burnt cd's as most cd's I've found contain too much crap surrounding the good music in a normal cd. (This isn't a make or break, but I'm just trying to get a budget of what I'll be spending on a stereo if I need to change this out right off the bat).

Keep in mind I'll probably be getting a car with the factory nav screen that doubles as a clock, seeing as that seems to be the majority that are for sale in the 03-06 range.

Also, does anyone else agree with me when I say, I love the look of the new XJ-series Jaguars, but if they styled it more along the lines of the New Bertone B99 concept (http://www.autoblog.com/photos/berto...easer/#3896140), I would love it even more?

Welcome to the Forum, Soul76. This will be a great place to do your research. As a data point for you, I have a 2006 XK8 and have had absolutely NO trouble playing my homemade CDs on the factory unit. I would prefer that it handled more than just 6 discs, but that's not really a big deal.

Cheers,

Welcome to the forum John,

You'll find plenty of advice in the forums to help in your search, I think the CD should be ok, but it is one of those things that can vary in practice.

CDR's should work, CDRW's probably won/t.

Welcome to the forum!

Oh one other thing you need to put your car details in your signature. I am speaking of the Year, Make & Model. Without it you may not get the input you are looking for.

Please take a moment and read the information provided to you explaining the rules. Be patient and enjoy the site.
