Default Hello

Hi there,

I actually thought I was registered on this forum already but perhaps I imagined it, which is a worry!

Anyway, my name is Rael, I am the grand old age of 31 and live near Gatwick Airport in little England (over the pond).

I currently drive a 2006 2.7diesel XJ Sport Premium and previously had a 1998 XJR 4.0 Supercharged in British Racing Green.

Pleased to meet you all

Welcome to the forum Rael,

With those memory issues, don't park the XJ at Gatwick Long Stay or that could be the last you see of it!

You must be happy with Jaguar after previously having an XJR. Hope the XJ Sport isn't giving any issues.

Enjoy the forum.

Graham

Thanks guys - what a lovely welcome

And awesome icon thingies :

Norri - way ahead of you buddy - I read that in the welcome email I got and added it immediately.

Graham - had quite a few problems I am sad to report. Some sorted, some remain! One of the flexi pipes on the cat split, causing diesel fumes to blow everywhere under the bonnet (this has now been fixed). Then one of the turbo's failed (this is now fixed - expensive!), my boot has a leak (see post in the X350 forum for help needed!), my Tyre Pressure System has failed (not sure how to sort this, have just changed the wheels?), DSC light comes on every time I start the car, the fan makes an annoying squeak at all speeds and the doors creak when opening. I think that's about it. Other than that, it's awesome lol

Thanks Jim, very kind of you!

XJR - so brilliant, they should be given away as anti-depressants, no way anyone would not be smiling when owning one! I loved the way it would step out to over-take and create a new timeline it would go so fast!

This is the only pic I have, which I took the other morning at work just to text to a friend. This is just after fitting new wheels (19inch Customs, which is the standard wheel on the Sport Premium, it was on 18inch Dynamics before)

Rael,

New wheels look great (as does the whole car) and you're definitely 'King of the Car Park'

Replacement turbo fitted!

haha King of the Car Park - I like that.

I do have my own private space though, right on the end next to a gap so that nobody can knock my car. Jaguars deserve such treatment. There is, however, a brand new M5 and a Merc SLR that appears every so often, they are nice too.

Yep - new turbo - quoted £1600 but managed to get it all done for "only" £800 as sourced a brand new Garrett turbo myself for only £220 which was a bargain compared to the quoted price!
