Hello to all
Finally, after 5 years of owning my 2009 XF 4.2 V8 PL Jag. I finally got down to registering onto this Forum. Only wish I had done it sooner.
Originally from Montreal, I have many many years experience driving in the most challenging weather conditions on the Planet, and in my youth, many winters were spent negotiating Black Ice and heavy snow with old RWD Junkers with re-grooved Summers. Now, driving equipment is much better and sophisticated however, I must say I have NEVER had a car that has given me such "White Knuckle" fears as the XF. It's as skittish on ice and snow covered highways as Ballerina on Ice. No matter what settings and winter tire combination, my cat is not winter friendly! But, as they say, you sometimes have to take the good with the bad and I'm glad AWD came to the rescue for new buyers.
My introduction post also is in regards to a P0031 Diagnostic code which was also confirmed by Jaguar Ottawa Diagnostics, indicates failure of Oxygen Sensor 1 on Bank 1. Part number is C2P8810 and they want $350 for the part. I am considering changing it myself and can find much lower cost Sensors with apparently are the OEM for my Cat (DENSO).
I welcome comments from anyone who performed this work as to how difficult it is (Dealership claims 1 to 1.5 hrs, so can't be too bad), and best replacement part to use.
Pleased to be on board, thank you for helping the Newbie
