Default Oxygen Sensor replacement

Finally, after 5 years of owning my 2009 XF 4.2 V8 PL Jag. I finally got down to registering onto this Forum.

My introduction post also is in regards to a P0031 Diagnostic code which was also confirmed by Jaguar Ottawa Diagnostics, indicates failure of Oxygen Sensor 1 on Bank 1. Part number is C2P8810 and they want $350 for the part. I am considering changing it myself and can find much lower cost Sensors with apparently are the OEM for my Cat (DENSO).

I welcome comments from anyone who performed this work as to how difficult it is (Dealership claims 1 to 1.5 hrs, so can't be too bad), and best replacement part to use.

Pleased to be on board, thank you for helping the Newbie

I've copied the question about Oxygen Sensor replacement from your Intro thread.

I'm doing mine at 80kmi. I only use Denso, who happens to be Jags original supplier. Rock Auto has them for $72.00 ea fr, $80.00 ea rear. Left right upstream/front are the same, and left right downstream/back are the same. For that price you could buy all 4. As far as changing them, you'll need a O2 sensor socket. Accessing the front one's can be a challenge as they can be right up close to the engine. The rear ones are usually under the car (easy). But if Jag is quoting just 1.5hrs labor as you said, yours should not be to bad for you to do, If you need a manual try here. Good luck!

Thank you Bigg Will, your response ties in well with the research I have done so far. Now it's time to roll up my sleeves and toil.
Cheers.
