Hello from Asheville NC
Hi All,
I am new here and also to owning a Jaguar. I recently purchased a 96 XJS convertible in St Louis, and drove it back to Asheville. Ten hours in one shot (minus rest stops and a refuel) with no real problems.
I did notice that the front end seems a little loose, with a slight clunk when I go over speed bumps. I took the Jag in to a front end shop and put in on the rack to inspect. All the bushings look good, so I'm not sure where the clunk is coming from.
I also have a slight hesitation from a stop light or stop sign. when I first depress the accelerator it hesitates for a half a second, then accelerates normally. It idles perfectly with no rattles squeaks or other issues. Any suggestions about the hesitation are appreciated. My wife doesn't notice the hesistation...maybe it's just me (but I doubt it). After looking through manuals, it appears I am missing the return spring for the throttle assembly.
Anyway, these are minor issues and I am enjoyng my new ride!
Here are the details:

Welcome to the forum Zac,
My favourite colour combination. Let's see some pics.
Follow Norri's link to the XJS section. Plenty of help and advice on the clunk and the hesitation.
If you go to the User ID button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and copy in your vehicle details, they'll always appear in your signature so you don't have to type them each time.
