Default Hello from Bakersfield, Ca

I joined a few months ago but this is my first post. I recently bought my 4th Jag, a 2000 S type 4.0 V8 with about 86,000 miles on it.
Very nice silver car with black leather and all the options but with an engine problem.
I purchased it knowing it was overheated and warped the heads. OK, I am a bit of a motor head and enjoy a project so I bought it.
About a year ago I bought my girlfriend a 2000 S type 3.0 V6 with about the same amount of miles on it.
When we go out or go someplace, we always take her car.
We love her car and that's why I bought my V8 model. I am in the Oil business and in-between projects so its time to get started on the V8 engine repair.

A little history on my other 2 Jags. I bought my first Jag in 1973 while I was a Junior at Ohio University (Engineering).
She was a 1966 3.4 Mk 2 from Hicksville, NY, a starving student needed the money and I got it for $800.
It needed the hydraulic clutch master cylinder rebuild and I put on a new exhaust system.
What a nice car, it ran great and all the girls wanted to go for a ride, nice benefit of having the only Jaguar in Athens, Ohio.

My next Jag was XJS V12, I think a 1978 that I bought in 1984. It needed the rack and pinion rebuilt but other than that, great car again. I loved that V12. I did change all the fuel injection supply and return hoses, about 50 if I remember correctly. Important maintenance item on those V12's. Jags love maintenance.

I look forward to being a contributing member of this group and success on my next Jaguar project.

Welcome to the forum swilly300,

Good luck with the engine rebuild. if you start a thread about it in the tech section, many members will be interested to follow your progress with the project.

You probably already know your way around here but if not, follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s-type-s-type-r-supercharged-v8-15/ to the S-Type section for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top there is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You may also like to visit the US Western Region section by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/western-us-ak-ca-nv-ut-hi-wa-id-38/ to find other members in this country.

Enjoy the forum.
