Smile Hello from Baltimore!

I just discovered this forum a month ago after I got serious about replacing my 95 XJ6. I've believed the best way to learn about a car you want is to read the forums. I've purchased a 2005 S-Type R just two weeks ago and what an incredible car it is. The amout of knowledge here is great. The search button here has been a good friend. Anyway, I'm glad to join another good car forum.

Welcome Fred!! How much back seat leg room you have...enough for a couple adults with you driving?

It actually feels like there is more legroom than my 95 XJ6. It was very suprising. My XJ is a standard wheelbase car. While back there in the STR I discovered this bag that went from the luggage compartment through the back seat. I read the owners manual and found it was a ski carrier. I love how Jaguar comes up with the most creative amenities. I probably will never use this as I have never been skiing but it is interesting.

Fred, welcome my MD brother. As you have discovered, the forums here are packed with lots of good info. Keep your eyes open, I am looking to get some G2Gs for this summer so we can start putting faces with names. Also, if you ever need any help, let me know. I am always willing to help a fellow forum member and I need a reason to go up to Baltimore anyways (got a son that lives up there). I'm south of you by about 2 hours (an hour south of DC down in the peninsula area). So, grab a good cup of joe and enjoy. Hope to see you around.

Welcome Fred,

The opening is not confined to skis 2X4s will also fit, I believe the main difference between the original MKII and the S type was a longer boot/trunk to allow golf clubs to fit.

Laurel Maryland welcomes you.

I really enjoyed the S-Type we had and it wasn't an R!

Enjoy yours.
