Hello from Buffalo
Hi,
I am a new forum member and here is a quick intro.
I am a Brit who is currently working and living in Buffalo , New York.
I used to own Jaguars when I lived in the UK, most recently an XJ40 and a LWB XJ8. Now I am here in the States I was missing my Jag and hence I have recently purchased an XJR100 - one of the limited editions from 2002, and I am loving it! Far too fast for US speed limits and probably totally impractical for a Buffalo winter, but hey what was I going to do? Not buy it!
Any other XJR100s out there? Would be great if someone tracked them all down. I know there were only 500 worldwide with about 250 in North America.
Cheers

Welcome to the forums Radclyffe!
You should try to make it to British Car Day on September 19th. It's hosted at the Bronte Creek Provincial Park in Oakville, Ontario by the Toronto Triumph Club. It's about an hour and a half from Buffalo. With over 1000 British cars making the pilgrimage each year, it's a premier British car event here in North America.
Here's their site : http://www.torontotriumph.com/BCD/
If you do make it, keep your eyes peeled for my silver '04 S-type. I can't wait to go - just hope the weather looks after us!
Cheers,
Rob

Spitfire Rob,
I have just registered for the British Car Day so thanks very much for the suggestion.
By some weird coincidence I was already going to drive to Toronto that day to pick up my wife from the airport on her way back from a trip "back home". So now I just go a little earlier and stop off on the way.
Cheers and see you there...

Hello again Radclyffe,
It was great to see you at the British Car Day yesterday! I'm glad you were able to make it up to the event. It was my first time attending as well and I was overwhelmed by the number of cars there - my car number was 910 and they were still pouring in well after I arrived.
For everyone else on the forums, I did manage to snap a pic of his Jag, an XJS100:

Cheers!

Great to meet up with you (and V12 and Mrs V12). Thanks again for the info on the day I really enjoyed it and great to see so many Jags in one place. Nice photo.. I wish I hadn't parked next to the barbeque, by the time I left the car smelt of burnt burgers!
See you next year, or perhaps at some other local event in the interim
Cheers
